WELL-BENT

Every day there’s a new ingredient to avoid or a new supplement to add to your stack—a new study warning about the toxins in your everyday products or a new product promising to fix all your woes. At some point, trying to be “healthy” started to feel like an unpaid part-time job.

This is why I founded WELL-BENT.

After 12+ years covering health and wellness for outlets like Business Insider, Healthline, Men’s Health, USA TODAY, Health.com, and more, I realized that it’s next to impossible for the average person to figure out what’s actually worth their time, money, energy, and concern.

Too often, wellness advice is reduced to oversimplified questions: Is it healthy? Is it toxic? Is it worth it? The most honest answer is usually: it depends.

Your age, gender, lifestyle, goals, and medical history can all affect the answer. Good health advice starts with context—not blanket rules—and to that end, WELL-BENT is committed to bringing nuance back to wellness.

This newsletter is a practical, evidence-based guide to wellness, motherhood, and the everyday decisions that shape how we feel. Think of it as your filter for the endless stream of expert advice, social media trends, and influencer-promoted products competing for your attention. Because you shouldn’t have to spiral down a Google rabbit hole just to buy a frying pan or some baby formula.

Inside WELL-BENT, you’ll find:

  • Clear breakdowns of popular wellness claims—and what actually matters.

  • Honest product recommendations based on real-life testing.

  • Practical strategies for making smarter, easier health decisions for you and your family.

  • Habits and routines that are realistic enough to fit into everyday life.

No fluff. No fear-mongering. Just a filter for what’s hype, what’s helpful, and what actually moves the needle.

About Rebecca

I’m Rebecca Strong, a Boston-based health and wellness journalist. Some of that work has been featured on Good Morning America and The Drew Barrymore Show.

Along the way, I’ve tested thousands of wellness products, interviewed hundreds of experts from doctors and therapists to dietitians, and spent far too many hours reading and translating clinical studies.

What I’ve learned is that the biggest problem in wellness isn’t a lack of information.

It’s too much of it.

WELL-BENT is my attempt to make that information usable.
